RR 134: Todd Erickson from Identifix
How He Started
Todd Erickson started his automotive career in 1984. He progressed through the ranks to become a technician at a tune-up specialty shop. He was introduced to oscilloscopes and 4 gas analyzers. He had the opportunity to participate in the GM ASEP program, graduating to become a Cadillac Journeyman Technician. Todd also became an accomplished Sr. Master Subaru technician.
Impressive Credentials
Along the way, Erickson acquired his ASE Master, L1, L2, Alternative Fuels and Medium/Heavy Truck Technician certifications. He is also an AMI Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM). Todd performs technical training and writes articles for automotive trade magazines. You can find his many articles on his Linked In page. He is also the founding member of MNSubaru.com, a Subaru based enthusiast club with over 500 members. Todd also administers the Car Care Ministry for his church.
The Job
Todd Erickson is a Car Line Expert at Identifix. Identifix serves more than 100,000 automotive technicians and shop owners in the United States, Canada and Latin America through its online Direct-Hit® system, Repair Hotline service and Direct-Shop® shop management system. Todd’s focus is to provide ‘just in time’ support to solve diagnostic problems.
I always wanted to interview a principal from Identifix, but Todd intrigued me as a front line support person. After speaking with Todd I realized we would have a winning interview, because he is all about helping the technicians and shop owners who make up a big portion of my audience. By the way, his specialty is Asian vehicles with a concentration on Subaru.
His Tenure
