Greg, I have been hearing about inflation/hyperinflation, degradation of the US dollar, and the supremacy of gold and silver ever since I started in the financial industry back in 1987, and I’ve been through 4 crashes, Covid makes it 5. What I have seen through the years is that when there is a global crisis, the entire world scrambles for the safety of the US dollar and dollar-denominated securities. Now I understand that we are blowing up the debt with what is happening, however, theres only 3 paths to choose, and the other 2 (austerity, or do nothing) suck. I think that coming out of this, the big challenge is getting confidence back in the minds of the public, so the stimulative action is crucial. Energy prices are dirt cheap, the world is awash in “capacity”, production capacity, energy capacity, and now even real estate capacity….there are going to be plenty of vacant spaces available. I don’t see inflation being an issue for an extended period.
