The XR ecosystem is built around three core technologies. Virtual Reality (VR) delivers immersive, point-of-view training with over 50 lessons focused on essential shop skills, reinforcing the idea that “brakes pay bills.” Using a structured “teach five, test five” approach, technicians develop muscle memory before ever working on a live vehicle. Mixed Reality (MR) bridges the gap between virtual and physical by combining real tools with guided digital overlays, allowing for hands-on practice with built-in support. Augmented Reality (AR) smart glasses bring the technology directly into the service bay, giving technicians instant, voice-activated access to critical information like torque specs, keeping them focused on the vehicle and saving valuable time on every job.

Looking ahead, the platform continues to evolve. Future integrations are expected to include shop management systems, Identifix, and digital vehicle inspections, enabling fully hands-free workflows and even customer-facing video communication directly from the bay.

After successful testing with early adopters, NAPA officially announced at VISION 2026 that its XR training packages are now available for general purchase, offering shops a powerful new way to train, support, and retain the next generation of technicians.

<li>&#8220;What Our Program Provides: <span style="font-weight: 400">The program simplifies the relationship between an industry lead business and vocational education that can lead into a career path. We ask for no money. Our “ask” is for your time. Time to integrate a student into your business to create a career fit. It starts with 10 hours and can grow into a new employee. Can you “Give Me Ten?”&#8221;</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">Started 5 years ago-serviced 75 students, in 17 different shops, collected 450K in grand money that goes directly to students. Perkins Grants and Perkins are national grants. </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">You need a dedicated instructor that believes in work-based learning</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">Students don’t know what they don’t know</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">Bridge from the classroom into the workplace</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">Partnering with local independent shops, and all businesses in all industries</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">Goal is to create this seamless pipeline system from the school to the workplaces</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">It gives the shop the opportunity to try that student on for size to look at their soft skills versus their hard skills</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">“Give Me 10” Internship Program- 10 hours broken up 2 hours for 5 days. Job shadowing 2 hours the first day, after that they will be working for the remaining 8 hours. The whole concept of the student starts off if with everything from a tour to introductions, to safety. Depending upon what the business does say in a traditional shop, they could spend one day with a tech, one day with a service writer, one day in parts etc. Each day they see something a little bit different.</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">Research once every quarter since 2020, talk to 25,000 households about their perception of the trades in the United States on the auto industry</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">Roughly 46% of parents are talking about college as an option, 33% of the children were seriously considering that as an option. About 30% of those same children thought about entering the workforce immediately. Disconnect with parents and children. More kids prefer to entering the workforce immediately than go to community college or trade school</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">How are the trades perceived? 18% are talking about career options with their child. 65% of the households would recommend the trades as a career option.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">Parent advocates for the trades- Rural America has the highest likelihood to recommend at 62% recommendation rate. Urban is next to 52.2, and then suburban 42%. </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">The people that are least likely to recommend the trades are people with a four year college degree </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">Are we even willing to recommend ourselves?</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">The education path to becoming an automotive technician is unclear, </span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">Career opportunities for women are abundant. But women themselves do not believe that there are opportunities for themselves</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">The general perception- working as an automotive technician is a job, not a viable career. The good news is only 17% of people agree that it&#8217;s a job and not a career, 44% disagree. </span></li>
