We are twenty-two into the new year. So, big deal, right? Did you set any goals for 2024? Complete your 2024 financial budget? Reveal to your team your ongoing plans for ‘24 for growth and improvement?
Too bad that we need a year to flip over on the calendar to re-think our personal and professional plans. For some, it is not easy to prepare or plan change or improvement; it is not easy to do. For some, it is a fun and ongoing part of what they do. They are change agents.
If you have not seriously considered the next six months, ask yourself a few simple questions. What is working and what is not? Do we need sales, margin, profit, training, an improved customer experience, tooling, or people? (to name a few) Simple yes or no answers should steer a decision, concern, or direction.
I suggest you include your people and get them to help find your answers. Please do not think you can come up with every answer. That is why your networking or peer group is there for you. If you don’t have one, get one. Your business coach or advisor will help guide you. If you have a coach, then this exercise is moot.
Discovering or discussing improvements is not a bad or negative exercise. It only exposes the important needs of the business required to build forward positive momentum for your people and your own personal success.
