RR 126: John Gardner Automotive Instructor and Host of Tech Garage

John Gardner, automotive instructor at Chipola College in Marianna, FL believes that the quality of technicians graduating today are bright and amazing. John shares his passion for teaching and his love for training in an inspiring episode that includes talk of his hosting duties for Tech Garage on the Velocity Channel. His start.
John Gardner completed the General Motors ASEP and Associate of Science degree programs at Broward College. He then worked several years for General Motors as lead technician as he started his career.

Education his passion.
His communication skills and wide knowledge base led him to pursue a career in education completing further studies through Florida International University. Eventually, teaching became his passion. He is able to give back to an industry that has been so generous to him by lending knowledge to aspiring technicians. John also developed and implemented the NATEF Certification Curriculum for the automotive tech program and re-certified the program to ASE/NATEF standards.John Gardner Chipola College 2

Influencing student.
John teaches many courses. Among them, Automotive Service Assistor, Engine Repair, Automotive Suspension and Steering, Automotive Brake Systems, and Automotive Electrical/Electronic Systems along with a dozen others.
