The Rise of the Mechanical and Technology Specialists
The Rise
The Declaration is out. We are embarking on a monumental change in our Job Titles in the Auto Service Repair Aftermarket. Are you intrigued? Curious? This is a crucial language change for our industry.
What you need to do:

- Get with your people, have them read it, and work together to make this change from the inside out.
- I’ve published a podcast and video so you can hear directly from me. The Podcast is Here, and the Video is Here. Please listen or view the entire episode.
- Embrace and engage this new language for your internal culture and your clients’ professional perception of your business.
- Share with your network of peers.
- Have Carm come on your company or network Zoom call to hear the back story of this movement.

I realize this is a heavy lift for some, but we are making progress. It took years to get the word Technician to stick, but it still doesn’t impact precisely what we do and how we do our jobs. This is an initiative to elevate the professionalism of our industry both internally and externally. It is time for this language shift. Our clients need to see the enormous skill level required to repair today’s modern computer-driven vehicles, which require specialists to keep them safe and reliable.
Read the Declaration and get on board. There is nothing but upside and improved professionalism, both externally and internally, for the million people who work in our critical and important skilled trade industry.
