RR 188: Marlo Miranda – 2016 ASE Instructor of the Year
Marlo Miranda from Forsyth Central HS is the 2016 Byrl Shoemaker ASE Industry Education Alliance: Instructor of the Year.
Marlo has had his share of automotive jobs. His experience includes Automotive Technician, Service Manager, Service Advisor, Shop Owner, Teacher and Coach.
He has worked on cars since 1976 and is an ASE Master Automobile Technician for over 30 years. Marlo has been certified in L1, and G1. He is an HD Truck Certified Technician, a GM Master Technician and a NATEF Evaluation Team Leader.
Marlo has been teaching automotive technology at Forsyth Central High School, Cumming, GA since 2004. The Automotive Program is MAST (Master Automotive Service Technology) Accredited through ASE/NATEF. Marlo attends over 40 hours of industry training annually.
He is also the AYES Intern Coordinator, SkillsUSA Advisor and the Car Club Advisor.
Miranda has also been recognized as the Forsyth Central HS Teacher of the Year 2015 and the Forsyth County Schools District Teacher of The Year in 2015.
He is a Father of 6(including Foster Daughter) and a US Army veteran.
It wasn’t always a smooth road for Marlo Miranda. He grew up in New York City in a single parent household with his share of challenges, he shares the story. Marlo played sports in school and credits his high school shop teacher, Mr. Camire for his belief in him and instilling a love of cars and belief in himself.
